National Mills Weekend a success

After a sterling effort to get the mill ready for visitors, we had a very successful first open weekend. Thanks to Andrew Kite of Downfield Windmill for helping to clean and tidy Northfield over a period of several weekends in order to have it ready.

Over 60 visitors attended, many local and several from further afield helping to raise the profile of Northfield and donate generously to the restoration fund. The weather wasn’t kind for a large part but we heard many stories and gained valuable information from local people on the history of the mill.
Thanks also to all our friends and family that helped to support us during the weekend, bringing cakes for sale and manning the refreshments stall! We’ll be open again in September for the TEAMS open weekend.
